Future Brewer – Beer Launch & International Women’s Day Special Event

Calling all beer enthusiasts, future brewers, and curious drinkers! We’re hosting an afternoon of drinks and chats to celebrate women who love to make beer, drink beer, and have even managed to turn their love for the amber liquid into a day job.

You’ll be amongst the first to taste our second annual release with CoConspirators THE BREWER! For this year’s iteration, we chose to make a style of beer we love to drink all year round—it’s a Rye Amber Ale! Headlined by a bold malt profile, with bright passionfruit and citrus hop characters, complemented by an unmistakable rye spice. You’ll get an icy cool can as part of your ticket price, and rest assured there’ll be more available to take home too!

It shouldn’t be particularly ground-breaking to put women at the forefront in beer, but the reality is that it is. The launch of this beer aims to create a safe space for female-identifying folks and allies to enjoy a good brew.

We’ll be handing the mic (literally) to some women we admire within the industry, and will give you an opportunity to ask them questions in a panel discussion hosted by our very own beer buyer, Cherry Noble. If you’re feeling shy, there’ll be plenty of time to speak to other women who are passionate about beer throughout the day, as we’ll be spinning tunes and pouring beers all afternoon. This is a day to celebrate women who love beer, not talk about the (few) blokes who can sometimes make the beer world an uncomfortable place for females.

We’re running things a little differently this year, and will kick the day off with a sensory beer training session with Stomping Ground‘s Sensory & Quality Co-ordinator, Lindsay Astarita. This is a fantastic opportunity for those of you who’d like to develop your skills for things like being a beer panellist, or of course, brewing! Following this we’ll host a panel discussion with some inspiring women in the industry—this year we’ll have some new faces and we’ll be tackling a few different topics. Join us to hear some pearls of wisdom from some of the best in the biz, then we’ll roll right into some Sunday afternoon drinks and you’ll have a chance to chat to like-minded women over a beer or two. There’ll be tunes, snacks, and a whole host of delicious beers to sip on, including Heaps Normal beers, if you’d prefer an alcohol free option!

A portion of the proceeds from today’s event will be going to a scholarship program, facilitated by Pink Boots Australia, to help some incredible women in beer on their paths to Cicerone Certification!
